The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Schools of Architecture, Design and Conservation - School of Design is an educational institution under the auspices of the Danish Ministry of Culture and is subject to the law on higher artistic educations.

The rector is appointed by the Danish Ministry of Culture to head the daily management of the School. The day to day leadership is carried out in collaboration with the school’s Management Team including head of department, head of research and head of administration.

The daily planning and development of the school’s education, professional specializations and teaching are carried out by the school’s five centres.

In 2011 The Danish Design School is embarking on a merger with The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, School of Architecture and School of Conservation. Together, we will create something new: The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Schools of Architecture, Design and Conservation.
