About DKDS

The Danish Design School offers education in design and crafts. We educate designers and crafts artists who are involved in developing the everyday world that we encounter, wear, move around in, communicate through and engage with. Contemporary design education addresses many different aspects of design. From form and technology over innovative and creative development to business consequences, design strategies, and sustainable possibilities.

The Danish Design School is an educational institution under The Danish Ministry of Culture.

135 years of tradition
For more than 135 years, The Danish Design School has contributed to the development of Danish design with an international reach. The school is founded on the Nordic design tradition, where functionality and aesthetics go hand in hand with business sense, and today it is a modern, business-oriented design school where groundbreaking partnerships, ambitious visions and new technologies go hand in hand with creative artistic development and professional innovation.

Our programmes
We offer a five-year education consisting of a three-year basic programme at bachelor’s level and a two-year advanced programme at master’s level.
