26th June
The Bornholm Art Museum

"This year's graduate exhibition welcomes you to the latest in Danish craft with 19 personal profiles from the Danish Design School, Bornholm. Made by Me presents new craft for you, me and all of us who know that new experiments in materials are important " -
Anne-Louise Sommer, Rector, The Danish Design School.

The exhibition Made by Me presents 19 graduate projects from the Danish three-year craft education. This happens for first time under the name The Danish Design School, Bornholm, which from 2010 presents the new strong cooperation between Danish craft and design with respect for the unique, explorative and developmental. Represented by the school on Bornholm, the subsequent exhibition provides a vivid insight into this.

The most inspiring functional objects and material based mushroom trips

The exhibition shows how contemporary crafts can push play and experimentation forward, side by side. Made By Me has it all. From new functional objects in glass and ceramics to adventure, thrill and mushroom trips. The exhibition welcomes you into a personal universe, where 19 graduates transcend the personal Me-focus to give insight into the art of craft and experimental processes, where anything can happen.

"Made By Me is all about relationships between you and me, them and us, material and resistance - between new product development and open questions translated into experiments in glass and ceramics. The desire to create is reflected in the 19 inspiring studies into how the materials can be explored and challenged - and can drive new forms forward," says Anne-Louise Sommer, Rector, The Danish Design School.

Made by Me is a traveling exhibition which will tour Denmark and Scandinavia, starting at the Bornholm Art Museum. With Bornholm as a rock solid foundation, the graduate exhibition shows the potential of contemporary crafts, where students have had the opportunity to experiment, explore new materials and traditional methods in fresh and unexpected ways.
