The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts - School of Design is offering a wide series of study programmes, covering a lot of different approaches to design. Also with an international perspective. One example of our present international collaborations and partnerships is The Interaction Design Programme. In 2008/2009 we established an interaction design pilot year with 22 students from all over the world. In 2009/2010 the pilot year is turned in to the full year curriculum, The Interaction Design Programme
The Interaction Design Programme is a collaborative initiative between The School of Design (KADK) and Copenhagen Institute of Interaction Design (CIID). Our aim is for students, faculty and staff to work together in a multi-cultural, multidisciplinary studio environment to co-create a new kind of education that is relevant for academia and industry.
After a rigorous selection process, 21 students from all around the world have been chosen to participate in a full-time, experimental version of a future Masters course in interaction design.
The Interaction Design Programme is a full-time intense curriculum that includes a number of skills-based modules (such as video prototyping and computational design), followed by in-depth investigations in to graphical/tangible interfaces and service design.
The Danish Ministry of Economy and Trade, The Danish Ministry of Culture, Novo Nordisk and The Danish Design School have awarded financial funding for the Pilot Year. The JL Foundation sponsored technical equipment for the project it-lab.
We hope that many interesting projects will come in to fruition this year and that by working together we will create a centre for excellence in design, technology and innovation.
