What is research saying about the trend industry? In what way are experiences weaved in virtual worlds? How does copyright protection affect our understanding of design? And when is a drawing completed? A new publication goes deeply into current research projects at The Danish Design School. Join us on a FLUX-ride into the field of design research.
FLUX offers a glimpse into the world of design research as it is conducted at the moment at The Danish Design School. Head of Research Anne-Louise Sommer is opening FLUX with an invitation to read along in the multitude of different theoretical approaches spanning from the humanities and social sciences to engineering, architecture – and of course, design.
FLUX presents 17 research areas currently taught and experimented with at the school. Research in interaction with the business community and on its way to new PhD. theses
Research staff and FLUX
With specific cases about research, design law, logo bags, textile as sound and architecture and much more, FLUX communicates ‘the concept of research’ and provides insight in the scope behind The Research Strategy and Plan 2008-2010 of The Danish Design School.
FLUX embodies the ways in which basic research, applied research, and development interact and intertwine – thereby forming a significant contribution to the mapping of contemporary design research.
The title FLUX suggests globalism and is a signal of movement, dynamic connections, and constant interaction.
