Research
I am an Assistant Professor in the field of aesthetic communication, branding and marketing. My research is empirically centred on fashion, and I am affiliated with the fashion platform, MOKO. My work is interdisciplinary, and my research methods comes from both the humanities and social sciences. I am particularly interested in:
"Expectations and Futures": I am deeply involved in the niche of ”science and technology studies”, known as “sociology of expectations”. My interest is not to predict what the future will bring, but rather to study how expectations and productions are active in constructive practices and aesthetics of today.
"Aesthetics and Bodies": I am interested in how aesthetics is used to establish borders and categories such as futures and pasts, human and non-human, black and white, man and woman.
"Culture and Consumption": I am interested in consumption as a cultural expression, especially in how futures, bodies and aesthetics are expressed through consumption.
Research Projects

To this end, the studies uses methodologies from Science and Technology Studies. The project is developed in connection to MOKO.
"Potential, Talent and Artistic Criteria". A study of criteria for talent and artistic quality. The project is execuded in cooperation with the research centre Imagine.
"Celebrities, Bodies and Branding". A study of connections between visualisations of the human body and brands. The project builds bridges between celebrity-studies and brand-studies. The project is developed in connection to the MOKO-platform.
