Afgangsprojekt
Tales of a Savage

Internship
2008 (January-June): internship at Inwear IC Companys:
My primary part was to make the prints for the collections, in collaboration with the creative director. I learnt the importance of collaboration, and how to develop ideas together.
Relevant jobs
2008-2009 : Design assistant at IC Companys:
Helping the design team at ICC headquarters, has taught me a lot about the business. My primary part was to make the prints for the collection, and to help the Catch Up team design and make technical drawings in Canvas X.
2003 -2007: Shop assistant at Inwear/Matinique (international clothes shop):
Working as a shop assistant has given me a good insight in what the costumer’s demand of the products when it comes to quality, price and design. In addition to this I also feel that I have obtained a relevant insight in the process from idea to product.
1998-2000: Sewing - and shop assistant at Heissel stoffer, Bjerringbro (tailor and fabric shop):
Here I got a good insight in the creative process of creating shapes by cutting and draping. I also learnt a lot about fabrics and their different qualities.
Relevant experience
2008, Participation in the “Apolda European design award”:
As one of only two from Denmark, I was chosen to participate in this event. The event gathers young designers from all over Europe, to network with firms and each other, and the event culminates in a big fashion show.
2007, Aug-Sep: exhibition ”Mellemrum” in Øksnehallen:
Among others, I was chosen to participate in this event. The exhibition gave me a good chance for exposure of my BA-project.
2007: A two weeks course by Anja Vang Kragh, the former designer for Galliano:
The course was an introduction to how a design team works together. Here I got an insight in the importance of cooperation and dialogue, and furthermore I got a lot of creative tools to use in my future work.
2007: A two weeks course by Anne Damgaard, Danish designer and draping artist:
The course was an introduction to a new way of looking at the design process. Instead of working with pictures I learnt how to work with music. By listening to music I created my own inspiration, which were abstract drawings. This was a new and exciting experience.
2003: Helping participants of “den gyldne pelsnål” a competition arranged by Kopenhagen Fur:
Helping the participants was very educational. We only had a short amount of time to create the styles and we had to make sure that they had the right look so that it would work on stage and still express what we wanted. During this process I learnt how much you can actually do in a short amount of time, as long as you cooperate.
