The Night Cap – design and animation of a short film
Description of the project
The project was to bring a little known Icelandic ghost tale to a broader audience. We wanted to adapt the story into an animated film. The story is told without words, entirely through actions, gestures and sound-scape.
The animation is based on the tradition of 2D cut-out animation and consists of mixed media.
The project is a collaboration between Guðjon Bragi Stefánsson and Edda Rós Jónsdóttir. We designed, directed and animated a short film of 6 minutes of length. The sound-scape for the film was created by Martin Juel Dirkov and Reda El-Kheloufi.
Story of the Night Cap
A boy is dressing up as a ghost to scare a girl. The girl wants to get back at him by stealing his white night cap. She take a white cap that turns out to belong to a real ghost. She returns it in a disrespectful manner and the ghost kills her. The boy learns the lesson that he shouldn’t scare people ever again.

The Blob
an interactive room installation with a soundscape and programmed sensors. Art project in collaboration with Sound designer Aron Fleming(Sweden), Textile Designer Julia Heuer (Germany), Programmer Erinc Malkondu(Tyrkey).
Production Designer in the short film “Alliancen”.
Head of crew and co-designer of 1:1 whale model for the short film “The Man & the Albatros”, Zentropa Productions. Whale Model was created with Styrofoam and waterproof coating.
